pumpkinhead's Un-Tribute to JRK

Tuesday, August 30, 2005

Hey guys, I'm not dead!

Never fear, just like the True Love of Harry and Hermione, I am not dead! Sorry I haven't been able to post to the blog for some time, but I've been at working so much lately.

Later tonight I'm going to post my latest essaying into the issue of True Love, and I know it will spark some very constructive thought and discussion. It's so good to see that everyone's been staying on, discussing of this serious matter of Betrayal and Disception vs. True Love.

Sincerely,

pumpkinhead

  • Pumpkinhead,

A friend of mine sent me a link to your website as proof of lunacy in the internet, so I spent the last few days looking over your blog (not just your posts, but the comments people have added to them) and, though I don't know much about HP, I must admit two things: you are fighting a good fight and these leeches that are being so mean to you should just leave you be. Keep on fighting for what you believe in and give those "trolls" (heehee) hell! True love is always a good cause and good intentions such as yours will strike at the heart of the over-commercialization of what was once a pure art.

  • Zippy,

You just went ahead and proved my point. I don't have to read any more books to know that you and others of your ilk are simple hate-mongers. Though I might not fully understand Pumpkinhead's specific cause, it falls under the general banner of love and that's a war I'm willing to fight alongside a believer like he. He truly does love the Harry Potter series and his fight against JKR (a.k.a. JRK) is fueled by that love. The only sad thing I found on this site was how you appropriately named trolls just don't seem to get that. I don't think it could be any more obvious, but I guess you awful, AWFUL monsters used up all of your literary "analysis" on that last, seemingly perverse sequel in the HP series.

  • Go ahead and insult me. Go ahead and laugh. Obvious signs of a failed cause in an intelectual debate such as this. I don't find you stupid and I don't find you funny; I just find you sad. I guess the word for you is mad, both in the sense of insane and angry... This site IS proof of internet lunacy, but Pumpkinhead isn't the crazy party, it's his opposition!

  • Sympathetic Soul, you think pumpkinhead is fighting for Harry/Hermione love? Au contraire, she is fighting against Ron/Hermione love. He's/she's/they're/it's also fighting against Harry/Hermione platonic love. So in other words, pumpkinhead is fighting against love more than for it. Still want to support "the good fight"?

I agree with Zippy - read the books, then respond.

  • Miss Trish,

I appreciate your demeanor. Judging from the rude welcome I received in this forum, I was thinking that I might have to quit my quest to provide Pumpkinhead some well-deserved support. I am not as heroic as she/he, I guess, who is willing to take on such hatred and rage in order to espouse a message of true love and hope.
I will not be reading the HP books any time soon. After learning of what PH had to say about JRK, I refuse to fund her mission to destroy what should be most cherished in this world: true love. I will leave the arguing of the finer HP points to PH, for she/he seems to be quite good at that.
And by the way, he is not fighting against ANY sort of love. R/H is simply not love, and he merely wishes for H/H to flourish into what it rightfully is: true love. Get it straight, PH is fighting FOR TRUE LOVE and I'll try my best to be there by his/her side.

  • SS, I really don't see how you can hope to be any use in this discussion if you haven't even read the goddamn books. She isn't fighting for true love in this horrible world that we live in. We're talking about characters in a book series, something which you know nothing about if you haven't read the books. If you don't want to contribute towards JKR's snatchy book sales, then don't: borrow from a friend, or even better, get your ass off this blog, because you just don't get it.

  • I thought I'd give you a comment from an H/Hr persepective since it seems that even though they got what they wanted, R/Hr shippers can't seem to leave well enough alone. Insecurity about their ship, perhaps? Or maybe they think that all of the sudden we'll "start to understand their ways" and convert? What exactly are these R/HR shippers trying to do anyway? Food for thought: The majority seems to be under the impression that 'secretly we're shipping Dan/Emma or that we aren't admitting that R/Hr and H/G happened.' If you want to get technical, H/G happened, but R/Hr didn't. Not yet anyway. We aren't in denail, we're delusional.. remember? There's a big difference. I happen to disagree with a petition, simply because I don't see how it will get anything done. JKR is so rich now, that she could blow anyone (except perhaps Bill Gates, but he doesn't ship anything as far as I know)*wink wink, nudge nudge* out of the water. Honestly, if that crap she wrote is what she considers romance... then Ron and Hermione can have each other, and they can have more children they can afford, and live in squalor. Continue the Weasley Family tradition! Because... in case you haven't noticed, this book is about the WEASLEY family. *eyeroll* That's why they're called THE WEASLEY'S AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE, right? And by the way, since it's actually from Harry's PoV.. do R/Hr honestly think he's going to sit in on their snogging sessions? Because I don't see how else they're going to find out about any of the romance that goes on between them, unless either Ron or Hermione decides to tell Harry, which I don't think he gives a rat's ass...

Enough rambling. "Emerson's Thugs" *snort* are making fun of you because that's what Ron does to Hermione! He makes fun of her and bickers with her, and that means they're in love! So...

    *gasp*

...maybe that means "Emerson's Thugs" are in love with you. Maybe they're in love with ALL Harmony shippers! Isn't this great?

    *eyeroll* Just goddamned wonderful.

  • I'm sorry if my spelling offends you in some way, zippy. Last time I checked, however, this wasn't my English class. I'm sure you got the gist of what I was trying to say, correct?

Anyway, I'm only suggesting that you may be insecure with your ship. If this isn't the case, then please...by all means explain to my poor delusioned brain why it is that you can't seem to just leave us the hell alone and go be happy that you got what you wanted.

I beg to differ about the 'crap' comment as well. If the author had to tell me that her original intention was for Ginny!Sue to be the main heroine of the story, then her writing is crap. It's common knowledge among English Lit teachers that good authors "show" the reader what they mean. Where was all the build of H/G? ExtremeMakeoverBarbie!Ginny disappeared for Prisoner and Goblet. Harry didn't show a single iota of interest in her.

If you recall the conversation that Harry, Ron, and Hermione had in OotP when Hermione informs Harry that "Ginny USED to fancy you, but she gave up on you months ago." Not an exact quote, but close enough. Now, if I recall correctly, Harry didn't register this comment immediately. Then when he did, he says, "Oh.. is that why she talks to me now?"

How utterly romantic of him. How does this one sentence convey secret feelings for Ron's little sis? It's not that I don't see R/Hr.. because believe it or not, most H/Hr do see it. WE JUST DON'T GET THE APPEAL.

Which is why you can yammer on all you like, but it won't change anyone's mind.

  • I've been at working so much lately.

You need a talk about verbs and nouns.

P.S. Get over the whole H/Hr thing. It's not like you can change it, because in the end it's Jo's decision. I know that the ship is kind of cool, I even ship it in fanon, but you can't write the books if you're not the author.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:27 AM

  • Ah yes, my master plan is still working. It seems that these militant H/Hr shippers have forgot about me. Hmm, maybe I should let these mudbloods live, they are so gullible, they make perfect slaves.

  • "Hey guys, I'm not dead!"

    Crap.

"It's so good to see that everyone's been staying on, discussing of this serious matter of Betrayal and Disception vs. True Love."

    Read the posts.

"Later tonight I'm going to post my latest essaying into the issue of True Love, and I know it will spark some very constructive thought and discussion."

Or it might just be a stupid piece of crap comparing H/Hr to Romeo and Juliet, still lacking cannon facts and not even accuratley comparing them that will be no doubt made fun of.

"I must admit two things: you are fighting a good fight and these leeches that are being so mean to you should just leave you be."

RIGHT...................... No cannon proof, no accurate arguments, just pictures of the actors and flames.......Real good fight.

"True love is always a good cause and good intentions such as yours will strike at the heart of the over-commercialization of what was once a pure art."

NOT IF THE TRUE LOVE ISN'T REAL!!!

"Though I might not fully understand Pumpkinhead's specific cause, it falls under the general banner of love and that's a war I'm willing to fight alongside a believer like he. He truly does love the Harry Potter series and his fight against JKR (a.k.a. JRK) is fueled by that love."

If that described pumpkin brains he wouldn't call the author JRK

"Go ahead and insult me. Go ahead and laugh."

    Thanks I will.

"I was thinking that I might have to quit my quest to provide Pumpkinhead some well-deserved support."

    Good riddence.

  • Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on. I was busy with school. Sympathetic Soul...my, my. *cracks up* Oh my gosh. You people just never learn, do you?
For your information, I am NOT a shipper. I simply saw that Ron/Hermione was going to happen, although I help onto a single shard of hope that Harry would go with Hermione. I was glad that Ginny made Harry so happy. End of story.
Well, I guess I'll just let the rest of y'all to cover the stuff I'd like to say but I don't want to repeat.

  • Dearest pumpkinhead, if you really wanted people to read this than you should not head it claiming you are not dead. You dissapointed a lot of people.
